Recognition & Advancement
By themselves, awards have little value, but they represent a completed journey and an experience that can never be sold or traded – only earned. All participants will receive the Oyo High Adventure Award at the Closing Campfire. These are very special and are not available for sale – they must be earned. . Advancement is not the principle reason for Oyo High Adventures. However, Oyo High Adventures do offer many opportunities for youth to work on requirements for the Ranger Award, several merit badges and awards. It is hoped that each participant can take advantage of the special opportunities that the program provides, but receiving credit for advancement is the participant’s responsibility. Guides will be happy to verify and “sign-off” requirements completed by participants. Participants should present the proper paperwork/records to the Guide for signature. Remember, participants should have their leader’s/advisor’s approval before beginning work on any badge or award.
