Crew Transportation

Crew Transportation

Transportation to and from Camp Oyo, as well as to and from trailheads and out-of-camp programs, is the responsibility of the unit.  Because most crew’s itineraries do not call for them to hike back to where they were dropped off, Oyo High Adventures personnel will do their best to assist you by providing retrieval drivers or by supplying supplemental transportation.  For example, the crew travels to a trailhead in their 15-passenger van, and an adult staff member or other adult leader in camp rides along and brings the van back to camp or to the exit location.

We recommend that crews not utilize large buses for transportation to and from trailheads.  This may involve journeying up and down steep, narrow, and winding roads.  Some commercial bus companies may be reluctant to travel to these trailheads.
