Olympics – Go For Gold

This summer we will be transforming camp into the ancient Greek Olympics for your Scouts’ to explore.  The Olympic theme will be incorporated into decorations, program activities, crafts, staff costumes, and camp wide games.

Olympic Gardens:  Nature Program

Our nature program will show the boys the magic of the environment at camp.  They will explore plant and animal life and experience fun and interesting activities designed to enrich their understanding of conservation and the great outdoors.  They will enjoy our own “Olympic Garden” through “creeking,” meet some of the forest animals and go on nature hikes.

Modern Shooting Sports

Shooting sports allows the boys to engage in BB, Archery, and slingshot shooting in a safe and educational environment.  The boys will have the opportunity to hone their skills over the course of the session and participate in one of the all time favorite activities for Cub Scouts.  Shooting sports pins and belt loops can be earned at camp and are difficult to get anywhere else.

Mediterranean Aquatics Program

The pool is always a relief from the hot summer sun and a great time to work on swimming skills.  We have a wonderful pool facility at Camp Lazarus and Camp Oyo, and there is a lake for swimming at Chief Logan Reservation. The programs and games that take place here are always a big hit.

Boating and fishing will take place at the pond /lake.  We look forward to teaching the boys about waterfront safety and giving them the opportunity to fish.  Our well stocked pond / lake means every boy has a good chance of pulling out a fish that will be 10 pounds by the time they get home and tell their parents about it.

Olympic Spirit Crafts and Development

Scouts will have the opportunity to work on projects and build items to use at camp and take home with them as camp mementos
